About the meeting

The 2026 Salamander Meeting will take place at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in Mexico City from October 6 to 8, 2026. The primary aim of the meeting is to facilitate the exchange of ideas, promote collaborations, and provide students and researchers in the salamander/axolotl community with an enriched academic environment. Experts from around the world will come together to present and discuss current research on salamander regeneration, developmental biology, and related fields.

Because the axolotl is endemic to Mexico, the meeting will also feature a special cultural component. As a complement to the scientific program, a visit to Xochimilco is planned to offer participants a broader perspective on the historical and cultural context of the axolotl in Mexico.

Participants are cordially invited to attend the meeting, present their research in poster and oral sessions, and engage in academic discussion.
